I'm sorry for posting this question, but I can't seem to find the answer or an official Google contact. I am currently a senior graduating in December, and I was wondering if I could still participate in the 2010 challenge.
I recently spoke with my Digital Metrics professor about sponsoring me and my classmates as a team, and he has agreed. My only concern is that I graduate from my university in mid-December, so I am very doubtful they will allow me to take one more class post-graduation. So, my last question is do you have any other advice on how I can participate? Or is there no way to work around it?
Thanks for your follow-up. I'm unsure of your university but feel confident there must be some option for you to take a class. Lifelong learning and catering to alumni is a big push by universities.
I have consulted with my professor, as well as my academic advisor, about my options to participate in the challenge. However, I still have a few more questions I was hoping you could answer.
1) My advisor has suggested that I take an online University Extension non-credit course after graduation, but I'm not sure if that fits the requirements. What exactly are the qualifications for a "registered student?"
- The definition given in the student guide was somewhat vague... a student "who (a) is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate course at any Higher Education Institute in any of the following regions: Americas, EMEA (Europe, Middle East or Africa) or Asia Pacific, and (b) studies under the direction of a professor (or similar senior academic) affiliated with the Higher Education Institute.
2) If I were to register for an extension course, does it have to be taught by my sponsoring professor? And can it be taught online?
I really appreciate your taking time out of your schedule to help me. I feel like I have so many questions, but I don't know who to contact at Google to find the answers.
