I am so sorry for posting this question here. I have been waiting for the updated information about the 2010 challenge. However, even though the website says the registration for the challenge will open in October, I could not find any information on it. I also submitted my email address to get further notice about the 2010 challenge, but I have not received any information so far.
So, I would really appreciate if you let me know when the registration for the 2010 challenge would open.
Thanks for your email and interest in the 2010 Challenge, which starts in late Janaury 2010.
Registration is by professors and pre-registration should come from a professor's email address. Google should email everyone pre-registered in a few weeks, but one of the first steps will be to prove that you are a lecturer, professor or something similar with a higher education institution.
My team has one advisory professor from my university(SUNY Buffalo) for the challenge, and I have asked him to submit his email address to get further information on it. Both the professor and I submitted our email address through this website, http://services.google.com/events/marketing_challenge_2009_reg, to receive the updated info on the 2010 challenge, but I am not sure if it is the right place for that.
If there is a certain website where the professor needs to visit and register for the challenge, please let me know.
Thank you for your quick reply. My professor and I have a question regarding the competition. According to the academic guide for the Google Challenge, 2009, the advisory professor needs to manage a class or a student club and divide the students into several teams with three to six members. My members and I all belong to a student, business organization, Pi Sigma Epsilon, officially registered at our school. Our organization is further headed by a national body based in Milwaukee. The only concern that my team, my professor, and I have is if we are able to compete in the competition. Our organization as a whole does not wish it take place in the competition, only our group of six people.
From what I seem to understand from the student competition guide is that any team can participate in the challenge, as long as it is representing its University. So, I was wondering if only one team from my organization can participate in the challenge with the advisory professor's help.
I am looking forward to hearing back from you again. Thank you in advance.
Yes, your team may participate under your professor's supervision.
Good luck and best wishes to TEAM PI SIGMA EPSILON.
Please note that the current academic and student guides, as well as the textbook will change slightly for next year. The new versions should be online this year.
Hello Mr. Murphy. How are you? Thank you for your reply.
I heard from my professor that he emailed you last week and got some information regarding the Google Challenge.
He was wondering if he can receive $50 of voucher for the challenge that you mentioned to me before.
My professor's name is Alan Dick, and he is from University at Buffalo.
So, if you do not mind, would you please send the voucher to his email address, which is mgtdick@buffalo.edu?
For record keeping purposed, I will need a formal request from Alan Dick in order to send him the voucher. A post from a student on GOMCHA will not suffice.
I am working at the Physics Department at UAM in Poznan :)
I am preparing 3 to 4 groups of students of Applied Computing for the GOMC 2010 :)
I already registered myself.
I have seen that dear Jamie that you've written "a free US$ 50 voucher to test drive Google AdWords" is it possible to all groups to apply for the voucher ?
If so it means we will be able to get our AdWords accounts registration quite early ?:)
Thanks for registering in the 2010 Challenge. The vouchers are available only for professors and professors must send a formal request to jmurphy@biz.uwa.edu.au.
And please note that a Polish team won the Europe/Middle East/Africa division of the 2009 Challenge. Maybe Poznan will win this year.
Yes :) I am an academic teacher :) I teach an E-commerce technologies... at my university.
I will send the letter to you asking about the vouchers :)
Yes :) it was great that the Polish team won in the EMEA division :) unfortunately there is only one division winner ;) Our team got to the semi-final :) and we are all happy about it and we got our certificates by mail fro you :) Any way you say :) I hope that this time I will know the winners personally ;)
